Sunday at The Gallery Players...

We had a blast at the show at The Gallery Players in Brooklyn this weekend.
We had some great kids come up and do scenes with us. They included improv scenes about a copy store, tyrannosaurus rex, splitting and becoming two people, a sit-stand-kneel about a prom dress, and of course, a Biography!
Here are a few pictures:

Freestyle Repertory Theatre- Soundscape- Ice Skating Rink

Laura Valpey Rodriguez does the acting while Mike Durkin does the sounds off stage with a microphone. The two members off Freestyle work together using the rules of Improvisation to create a scene and a story. Can you tell who's following whom? Me either!

Also at the same fourth grade school show in Brooklyn

Freestyle Repertory Theatre- Setting Set Up- "Candy Factory"

Mike and Laura are doing Improv Workshops for kids for the 4th graders in this Brooklyn school, so we did a show that incorporated some of the lessons they had learned. The girl comes up and does a wonderful job of saying "YES" to the scene, and she gives it the perfect ending- Watch:

Wasn't she great? The kids at this school learned a lot from our assembly (as they always do), but the best part is that they didn't realize it!

Freestyle Repertory Theatre- Arms Through Expert: "Six Flags"

We did a show last week in Brooklyn for some 4th graders who, Laura and Mike teach improv to. These kids were pretty on the ball, and as I show you in this clip, the kids playing our arms TOTALLY worked their magic, and I'll be putting another clip up soon. Notice that they know the two rules of Improvisation" Always say "Yes" and Always make your partner look good.
Of course with me as your partner- it's easy ;-)

The later clip will be from the same show...
